In case you didn't know, Conor is in the middle of a three week tour of Japan with Eli Gerzon's Worldschool Travel Tours. Amazingly, he's actually been in touch to let me know his general whereabouts. Not surprisingly his messages are short and to the point. So very "Conor" in their succinct and no nonsense format. He probably would have loved the old telegrams of yesteryear.
But emails are free, so I actually got a couple of extra words. And lucky for me there are some bloggers in the group so I can get a few details and lift some pictures.
So here they are, my Hello from The World of Tomorrow emails. (That was actually the subject line of the first email.)
I'm doing fine, Japan is amazing. I would have called but I can't get a signal and it would have been about midnight for you anyways. I'll try for daily emails but we both know that won't happen. (zenmomma's note: LOVE the honesty!)
Doing fine. We've just arrived in Kyoto, I really hate this keyboard and yeah I think that's about it. (zenmomma's note: I'm not sure where this picture was taken, but apparently he's rubbing the Buddha's head for luck.)
So that's what I've got, four emails from the other side of the world,
You can see more photos and read other people's blog posts about the trip here and here.

Wow! So totally awesome for him to be there and have such an amazing time.
it's been great following the worldschooling blog - hard to believe he's all the way over there.
Love seeing an update. :) It's so exciting!! Thanks!
Amazing!
Connor is sooooo cool...I want Wes to meet him some day.
Love the short yet honestly sweet World news...Wonderful family you have here, Mary!
Will be looking into the World of Tomorrow for certain...
awesome!!
love your blog's new look, btw =)
Funny how expectations have changed. The first time I went to Europe, around 1983, no one expected to hear from you until you got back. It took me 9 months in 1989 to find out that email actually would go back to the US - and phone calls were over $1/minute. And now apparently it's only "I couldn't get a signal, on my phone which otherwise works in Japan and is affordable".
I loved this post, Mary! Thank you so much for sharing Conor's emails and his experience.
On another note, how did you do this COOL blog design? IS it a template? I am looking for a blog redesign, I'm sick of my old layout. I want some funky pattern too!
Rachel, I got my new blog design here: http://lenatoewsdesigns.blogspot.com/
She's got lots of wonderful, free templates. You download the code and plug it into the HTML on your layout page. I can show you how if you like.
Ooo, thanks Mary! That's going to be fun!
