Frank and Ronnie
Our hosts. Our chefs. Our providers. Our tour guides. Our friends. They opened their home and their hearts to the tribe and we thank them. Here's a little peak at our time in their house.

Gotta love the suit of armor awaiting you by the front door. It announces that something special has got to be happening inside.

Then there's the uber cool dragon hand reaching through the curtains to keep a hold on the massive sword. Yes, no ordinary, boring folks live here. But not even these (and many other amazing little embellishments scattered liberally throughout the house) could prepare me for the ultimate in cool.
Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to introduce.....Super Toilet! You may not be able to tell from this photo, but THIS...this is the world's MOST amazing toilet seat. First of all, it's heated. Ahhhh. And soft. And what's that? Why it's a remote control bidet with heat, pulsating front and/or back spray and a dryer! Yes that right. Close your eyes and think of Paris my friends.
See how happy we all look? Now you know why.
The teens had a blast hanging out on Ronnie and Frank's bed. Check out that massive headboard! There's room for everyone.
There were Effie smiles,
and Fergus smiles. What more can you ask for?
Well, maybe something to build with and a cool guy who seems to be able to do or create almost anything. (Hey, didn't that guy once rescue four babies from a burning building?)
I think we had as much fun watching the towers crash to the floor as we did watching them reach to the ceiling. Literally!
Ronnie and Frank's house, just the right comfortable spot to get cozy, chat, play, eat, drink and let it all hang out. And we did.
9 reasons to keep on blogging:
Looks like a lot of fun! My sister visited Japan and took pictures of the toilets...she loved them! They were heated & self cleaning. LOL Fascinating!
We miss you guys! The house is too quiet. And you can actually walk from here to there. It's just not right.
Thank goodness you finally posted, I've been checking all day! Sweet pics of my babies. But you don't seem to have chronicled that delicious moment on the couch when Connor, Fergus and Effie devoured all things Star Wars together - one of my (many) personal fave moments of the weekend. Ronnie and Frank, you rock for creating such an amazing time for all of us - speaking of which, who got a photo of the cooler-full-o-spicy-shrimp? Now that was well worth a "Jambalaya" shout out!
Love all you guys, 4 months is gonna be too long.
No kidding! Really, get yourself invited to their house ~ and poop while you're there :D It's amazing!!! We did discover that if we leave the heat lamp on in the bathroom, the seat gets warm in about 1/2 hour...
Towers and toilets -- oh, that I could have closed my eyes and wished us all there. My boys are 14 and 15, and I'm feeling the need to find likeminded peeps as never before. They seem happy playing Warcraft and Halo with friends online, and hanging out with our Thursday group, but there are few true unschoolers around. We're going to try for the L&L in Asheville this year. I'm so glad you all had such a joy-filled time! :)
That looks like a blast. And it makes me want to have a cooler house..and a warmer toilet seat.
OMG---is Conor wearing Tripp clownpants? Now I don't feel like such freak-mom. ;-)
Oh my, I've been seriously out-kapplad!
And where can I get one of those toilet seats?
Like Ronnie said, the house feels quiet now... too quiet. It's like the old line, "What was the strange thing the dog did in the night?" Answer: Nothing. He was quiet. THAT was strange. And it feels wrong to rattle around this old house without tripping over teenagers or kappla blocks!
We're lonely. Y'all come back! Ok?
Gillian, I'm sure Ronnie has photos of the "berled swimps" and I suspect she'll get around to posting some pics in a coupla days. I dunno who else might have shrimp pictures.
Sharon, bidet seats or washlets are getting pretty popular now. There are several brands avaible from a coupla hundred bucks on up. Way up. That one is by TOTO, a pretty well-respected manufacturer, and that particular model is about $550~600. Shop online for deals but Home Depot, etc. tend to carry them nowadays.
Thanks for posting, Mary, these are GREAT memories!
