My first Thursday Thirteen. Since we're coming up on Halloween week, I give you Thirteen Gold family Halloween costumes of yore.
1. Pumpkins. Not original, but both kids wore this for their first Halloween. Can you guess which kid is in this photo?
2. The green Power Ranger. I made this one, including a gold lame shield/vest that he's not wearing here.
3. Bag Lady. A friend and I dressed up as bag ladies for a Halloween party. I was about 23 at the time. Not terribly PC.
4. A graduate. Jon has never graduated from anything since Kindergarten. He wore the cap and gown last year.
5. The white Power Ranger. By this time the Power Rangers were all the rage so I just bought Conor a costume.
6. A bat and another pumpkin. Conor is the bat, I made that one. Qacei and I are the pumpkin. Yet another instance of an unoriginal costume for me. You'll note I was making Qacei at the time, so maybe I was preoccupied?
7. Pebbles Flintstone. Qacei was 2 and I tricked her into wearing this. She did NOT want to dress up. Don't ask me why it was important to me, I can't even remember caring about stuff like that anymore. But apparently I did care back then. So she was Pebbles and I got sneaky so I could show her off.
8. Peter Pan. Conor was 3 1/2. I made the costume but the sword was THE most important part. He probably would have been happy with just the sword. Note a tiny Tinkerbell in the hat.
9. A vampire. Qacei's dark period
10. A red ninja, both Conor and Qacei in different years.
11. A black ninja, both Conor and Qacei, again in different years. Ninjas are just too cool.
12. A Starbuck's employee. Jon wore a green Starbuck's type apron at the cafe one Halloween. Our regulars actually got scared that we sold out. Silly people.
13. Dark Fairy/Queen of the Night/Vegetarian Vampire. An all-in-one costume extravaganza.

I love the "Thursday Thirteen" idea, I wish I'd thought of it. :P
I can't believe you made that Power Rangers costume, and that little bat costume is adorable.
And my boys are just like Peter Pan, there, when it comes to their Halloween costumes. They nearly always choose based on the weaponry.
Great idea and costumes!
Enjoyed the list.

I didn't come up with the Thursday Thirteen myself. I'm not nearly so clever. It's an ongoing meme. I added the code to the post to avoid confusion. You should participate!
Well, I beg to differ over your "not nearly so clever" comment, but the Thursday Thirteen sounds totally fun! I'll have to pencil it in, thanks. :P
Those are some impressive costumes.
Oh this is pricelss...we have had a few Power Rangers in our home and lot and lots of cats. This year, the teen is handing out the candy and her brother will be Hans Solo. Fun times.
Oh waaw, that peter pan costume is so very adorable! Great list! And a happy TT to you ;-)
that peter pan costume is beautiful! You're quite talented! I'm lucky if I can even thread a needle LOL!
Oh my gosh: a vegetarian vampire! Love it! I loved these photographs--I don't do Halloween but reading this made me sort of wish I did! Peter Pan is so cute...
Wow awesome homemade costumes!! I especially like the Peter Pan one (and the sword is perfect). Happy TT!
Those are magnificent costumes! It would never have occurred to my mother to make such gorgeous costumes in a million years---we had the cheap ones that smelled like kerosene from the local "five and dime" (this was the seventies).
Love the little bat---that might be my favorite. It is just SO CUTE.
The costumes are wonderful!!!
The children are adorable!!!
Terrific Thursday Thirteen!
My TT is posted.
Have a wonderful day!
Happy TT'ing!

Raggedy
I admire anyone who can sew and make things!
Even after I was divorced my ex-mother-in-law used to sew buttons on for me... (I miss her - she was wonderful!)
The Peter Pan costume is really great and just the sort of picture every boy dreads when they get past a certain age.
Great TT :-)
That was fun...
I love the Peter Pan costume. You are talented! Thanks for sharing~
