Oregon Country Fair, that is. We've gone every year since we moved here and always have a great time. If you've never heard of it, Country Fair is a great big hippie fest in the woods with costumes and food and music and craft booths and political activism and spirituality and love. I donned my purple horns and fairy wings and we all joined in on the fun yesterday. Here are some photo memories in no particular order.
There were teeming masses of people yet I heard not one harsh word the entire day.
There was always a crowd dancing at the drum tower (some wearing more body paint than clothing.)
Tiger man looked pretty cool.
Neebin and Conor traveling the fair.
This was a huge beautiful costume. Is it a moon man? A fairy god? A ghost? It was very gentle whatever it was.
Here I am at the end of a long day (minus my horns and wings.) I'm leaning on the hand-carved walking stick that Jon bought at the fair.
This was part of an amazing art display along one fence line.
Fabulous dancing cowboy glam-rock stilt guy.
Qacei's henna tattoo. Gorgeous, but it didn't last. :-(
And of course you can't have a fair in the woods without a passel of wood nymphs.

Oh,, Mary, that looks like so much fun!
I think my family and I would have loved it! Thanks for sharing the pics. :)
I was there Sunday! I've been several times before but this was the first time I spent some time walking around by myself. I really enjoyed it!
I'm glad I clicked on here today...what a nice blog! That Fair sounds like so much fun, I bet the dog would have enjoyed it on the 4th! :)
Anyway, I love your pictures and storytelling. Peace, Vicki
Is this your first time to the fair? If so, you have stepped one more level into Oregonian-hood!
I love the fair too. It's been quite a few years since I've gone. It is nice to see your pics and hear about your families time there.
